My thoughts on Creed

“A Knockout”

“Creed” is about a man named Adonis Johnson. played by Michael B. Jordan, who is the son of the legendary boxer Apollo Creed. Adonis asks Rockey Balboa (his father’s rival) to become his trainer. Adonis wants to make something out of himself without riding on his fatheer’s name.

The acting performances from the cast in “Creed” are all great! The standouts are Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone! They truly deliver! When Adonis and Rocky were side by side on screen, it was such a joy to watch them. It was thoroughly incredible. Stallone shows us why he is Rocky and Michael B. Jordan shows us once again why he’s becoming one of the best actors in our generation. Sylvester Stallone will be talked about during award season no doubt.

Director Ryan Coogler delivers and really captures the tone of the previous Rocky movies, while creating a new movie entirely. Ryan Coogler is becoming a director to watch out for. With his previous movie “Fruitvale Station” and now “Creed” he is becoming a household name and really one to look out for.

The action sequences are nail-gripping and you feel so close to the action you can feel every punch. The cinematography is brilliant! The soundtrack is magnificient! It’s loud and enthralling. The movie is very well paced and has lots of tension. The movie also has lots of heart.

In conclusion, “Creed” is an excelllent addition to the Rocky universe. “Creed” also stands on its own. You should definitely watch this even if your not a Rocky fan. If you love movies, go see this immediately!

It’s thoroughly phenomenal!

Rating – ★★★★
