My thoughts on The Force Awakens

“The Force Awakens” hits all the right notes. J.J. Abrams nailed it! There are alot of HELL YEAH moments and moments that make your jaw-drop. It’s a roller coaster of emotions!

“The Force Awakens” exceeded my expectations and made me in awe. Not only was it filled with several characters from the OT (Han Solo, Chewbaca, Leia, C3PO, R2-D2 ) it also introduced new characters (Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, BB-8 and more) in a flawless manner. You get to see your old friends and meet new ones.

The story takes places 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Finn used to be in The First Order but leaves it and meets Rey on the planet of Jakku. Both of them get together and go on a epic adventure. That’s all you need to know. The plot is pretty easy to follow and there are various moments of humour that didn’t feel forced.

The acting performances are great! All the new members of the star wars universe embody their characters. The standout performances are John Boyega and Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac. John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Oscar Isaac (Poe) are fantastic! The action sequences, sound editing and cinematography are phenomenal! There are a ton of shots that made my jaw drop and lots of shots that pay homages to the classics. The chemistry from the whole cast is great, especially from Finn and Rey.

Is “The Force Awakens” a perfect film? No, it’s not by all means. I have some gripes with it, but “The Force Awakens” did what it had to do and long-term Star Wars fans and new comers will love this! “The Force Awakens” is everything you wanted and more! It’s a fantastic re-introduction into the star wars universe and a great start to a new trilogy.

Episode VIII right now please! btw – BB8 is the best!

Rating –  ★★★★
