“Beautiful”

I absolutely adored this film! ‘La La Land’ hit all the right notes – phenomenal performances, impeccable cinematography, terrific writing, and an incredible soundtrack. After watching the film, I wanted to listen to the soundtrack over and over again. The pacing was fantastic too, there was never a dull moment and I was hooked from start to finish.  Another thing that I wanna point out is how aesthetically pleasing the color palette is, very vibrant. In terms of the story, it’s truly wonderful and its very inspirational.  thumb-1920-780126.jpg
Alright in terms of the negatives, I got literally none. It was such a joy to watch all throughout! The entire cast and crew did such an incredible job and created something really special. It’s one of the best films of the year and it’s my pick for best film of the year. It’s definitely a must-see on the big screen! It’s gonna be nominated for a bunch of awards and win a ton too, and deservedly so. Instant classic.

Thank you Damien Chazelle.

My thoughts on Moonlight

Moonlight

“Truly Phenomenal”

Moonlight is filled with breathtaking performances, a beautiful score, an engrossing powerful story, stellar visuals, and its directed to perfection.  I was just blown away while watching the film and I was in awe afterwards. I highly recommend you watch the film and just sit back and relax and enjoy the story of Chiron. I have seen the film twice now and it gets even better on a second viewing. Each shot conveyed so much emotion. It’s just so brilliant in every way. The performances really blew me away too.
20151024_Moonlight_D09_C1_K1_0303.jpgAll the three actors who played Chiron, Naomie Harris as Chiron’s mom, and Mahershala Ali deserve a ton of awards and the film itself deserves all the praise its been getting. In conclusion, its one of the best films of the year and I highly recommend you to check it out. Once you watch the film, you’ll realize why everyone’s been raving about it. It’s directed to the crisp by Barry Jenkins, gorgeously shot, very well written, and filled with incredible performances. The film will 100% be a contender for this years Academy Awards and it should get nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali, and Best Supporting Actress for Naomie Harris and win a few.

My thoughts on Manchester By The Sea

“Fantastic”

I did not cry while watching this film like most people did but I did tear up a bit. It’s a very well done film and its emotional pull isn’t forced or manipulative. It’s a story about a man dealing with depression. I don’t really know what else to say without spoiling anything but the film is stellar and it has real characters dealing with real situations. It’s fantastically written and although the film is very sad, emotionally draining, and heart-wrenching, there are surprisingly a lot of funny moments throughout the film.
MANCHESTERBYTHESEAExclusive_MichelleWilliamsandCaseyAffleck_Cred1471628165.jpgOne of the things I absolutely adored about this film was the performance by Casey Affleck. There are numerous scenes in the film that involve his character that just floored me. The whole cast delivered great performances with the standout being Casey. Casey delivers one of the best performances of the year as a man haunted by his past trying to confront it. Overall, the film is brilliantly written, directed, and acted. It’s a solid film that I highly recommend you watch. I think Manchester By The Sea will definitely be getting some Oscar nominations such as Best Actor for Casey Affleck, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress for Michelle Williams, and Best Picture.
